Neurological Physiotherapy Surrey

At Surrey 152 St (Fleetwood) Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic, we help people across Surrey, Richmond, and North Vancouver manage the effects of neurological conditions with treatment tailored to your body and your goals.

Our neurological physiotherapy program is currently focused on three conditions: Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke recovery, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Peripheral Nerve Injuries. We do not provide general neuro-rehabilitation for other neurological conditions at this time.

What is Neurological Physiotherapy?

Neurological physiotherapy is a science-based approach to restoring movement, balance, and function for people living with a condition affecting the brain, spinal cord, or nervous system. It addresses issues such as impaired coordination, muscle weakness, balance and walking difficulties, and reduced mobility, using treatment strategies specific to each condition’s progression and impact.

Conditions We Treat

Our physiotherapists have focused experience in evidence-based practice, helping patients manage the following three neurological conditions.

Parkinson’s Disease

Treatment focused on improving posture, gait, balance, and mobility, while managing tremor-related movement challenges and reducing fall risk through targeted exercise programs.

Post-Stroke Recovery

Rehabilitation to rebuild strength and coordination on the affected side of the body, retrain functional movement patterns, and support a safe return to daily activities.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Individualized programs to manage fatigue, spasticity, and balance changes, with treatment paced and adjusted to each patient’s symptoms and energy levels.

Peripheral Nerve Injuries

Patient centered approach for specific nerve involvement using motor and sensory strategies to improve movements and sensation. Strategies to improve strength, regain muscles and functional movements of specific muscles supplied by an injured nerve.
